Job Title: Assistant Accounting Manager
Job Level : Assistant Manager
Department: Operations Department – Accounting
Rate: RM 5,000 - RM 6,000
Work arrangement: Hybrid work set-up (1-2 times per month reporting to Singapore head office)
Overall Job Objectives:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to support our Accounting Manager in managing day-to-day finance operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, timely reporting, and financial integrity across the business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to various strategic finance initiatives within the group.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Accounting Manager in overseeing daily accounting functions and financial reporting.
Prepare and review financial statements in line with statutory and internal requirements.
Conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations and ensure timely month-end closings.
Monitor and process accounts payable and receivable, staff reimbursements, and bank reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in statutory filings.
Supervise junior team members and review their work for accuracy.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits.
Support implementation and improvement of internal controls and financial procedures.
Assist in data preparation for management reporting and decision-making support.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional qualifications preferred (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, MICPA)
3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory/assistant managerial role
Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial regulations in Singapore and Malaysia, with a stronger focus on Malaysia.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
High integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information
KEY DELIVERABLES:
Accurate and timely processing of all accounting entries (AP/AR, journal entries, etc.)
Zero discrepancies in monthly reconciliations and financial reporting
Compliance with statutory deadlines (e.g., tax filing, statutory reporting)
Completion of general ledger reconciliations by defined cut-off dates
Minimal rework or errors in tasks assigned to junior staff
Timely submission of documents to auditors and management
