Responsibilities:

Greet customers when they enter the cafe.

Responsible for taking orders, making sandwiches and dealing with customers.

The Sandwichstar must ensure that she has adequate materials for the lunch rush – including special orders – cleaning up, and keeping tidy specific areas in the Bar.

Complete responsibility for morning / evening prep, including: storing daily deliveries, checking deliveries and filing dockets, washing vegetables, preparing salads to recipes, setting up the display fridge. Soup kettles, baskets, condiments, jugs, making sandwiches and rolls to recipe, operating machinery including slicer, scales, coffee, toaster and others, making coffee and tea, ensuring supplies are kept topped up. Observing the hygiene standards laid down in the Staff Manual.

Serving customers as the need arises, putting the customer first and adhering to the Three Little Rules in the Staff Manual. See our website for details.

Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies).

Inform customers about the on-going promotion.

Offer menu recommendations upon request.

Up-sell additional products when appropriate.

Take accurate food and drinks orders by using a POS ordering software.

Inspect dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.

Provide excellent customer service to guests.
