Business Development – Renewable Energy

Key Responsibilities

* Identify and secure new business opportunities in solar PV, BESS, Solar PPA, CRESS and other renewable energy solutions.
* Develop and maintain relationships with customers, investors, landowners and strategic partners.
* Identify, assess and develop potential renewable energy projects from initial concept to commercialisation.
* Conduct preliminary project feasibility assessments, including site suitability, energy demand, project costs, investment returns and commercial viability.
* Coordinate site assessments, technical evaluations, project planning and regulatory approval processes with relevant internal teams and external consultants.
* Develop Solar PPA proposals, commercial offers, financial projections and investment recommendations.
* Lead customer engagement, commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
* Monitor Malaysia’s renewable energy market trends, policies, regulations and industry developments.
* Coordinate with technical, legal, finance and project teams to support project development and execution.

Candidate Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field.
* Relevant experience in business development, project development, renewable energy or commercial sales.
* Good understanding of solar PV systems, Solar PPA, project feasibility and investment evaluation.
* Good knowledge of Malaysia’s solar energy regulations, policies and relevant authorities, including Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), SEDA Malaysia, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA).
* Familiarity with renewable energy programmes and regulatory frameworks, including CRESS and Solar ATAP.
* Ability to assess project feasibility, commercial viability, financial returns and project risks.
* Strong communication, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
* Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits and project development activities.

Experience in BESS, CRESS, utility-scale solar projects, land assessment, regulatory approvals or renewable energy investment is an advantage.
