We are hiring a Commodity Manager to lead sourcing, supplier management, and commercial strategy for assigned categories. This role is responsible for developing commodity strategies, driving cost and performance improvements, and ensuring reliable supply to support manufacturing and business objectives. The Commodity Manager works cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and supply chain teams to align sourcing decisions with technical requirements, production plans, and long-term business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Commodity & Sourcing Strategy
Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with business and manufacturing needs
Conduct supplier market analysis, benchmarking, and long-term capacity planning
Identify and qualify new suppliers to strengthen competitiveness, resilience, and scalability
Supplier Management & Commercial Ownership
Lead RFQs, bid analysis, and supplier selection using cost, quality, delivery, and risk criteria
Negotiate and manage commercial agreements including pricing, contracts, and supply terms
Own supplier performance management, including cost, quality, delivery, and service metrics
Drive continuous improvement plans with key suppliers
Cost & Risk Management
Forecast material cost impacts and lead cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives
Manage risks related to supply continuity, price volatility, obsolescence, and single-source exposure
Support inventory, stocking, and supply strategies to reduce business and operational risk
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to support design, sourcing, and production decisions
Work closely with supply chain, logistics, quality, finance, and legal on supplier development, contracts, and compliance
Provide data-driven updates and reporting to stakeholders and management
Compliance & Governance
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations
Support environmental, sustainability, and ethical sourcing requirements where applicable
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline
Typically 5–10+ years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, or direct materials procurement
Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations, cost management, and cross-functional sourcing programs
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
