Costing Engineer

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for understanding the customer specifications and company standards and, verifying the same in the finished product. This position is also responsible in confirming the blueprint of the product before it goes for manufacturing.



Job Responsibilities:

Receive, analyse and prioritize requests for Quotation (RFQ) from customers within the required time frame.

Interpret customer specifications, drawings and application.

Produce both commercial and technical proposals when necessary.

Liaison between sourcing, engineering and sale team/ customer to create accurate product pricing and to address any discrepancy, missing information and technical issues related to drawings and builds.

Clearly define and describe any deviation from the original customer request.

Managing traceability of RFQ document filling, log list

Perform cost audit whenever required.

Review and evaluate price variance requests from sales team or customers.

Raise technical query / change proposal when there is any deviation from the original specification or print requirement.

Work extra time whenever there is urgent or many RFQs from customers.

Experience estimator to supplement costing team and able to quote high complex and high assembly parts.



Requirements:

A degree in a field related to the area of discipline or equivalent certification and experience within the specific discipline.

3-5 years of experiences in quoting of technical / manufactured products.

Prefer experience / knowledge in machining process / module assembly / manufacturing environment.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawing, quality documents and technical specification and have knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerance standards.

Good understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) structure and familiar with standards components.

Team player and able to collaborate with FAP ‘s working environment.

Proactive, self-motivated, independent, hardworking, and pleasant personality.

Strong PC computer skills such as Outlook, Excel, Word and power point

Some knowledge in CAD system

Speak, read and write fluent English.
