Requirements

Qualifications

Degree in any Engineering Discipline, Diploma or Certified Electrical A4 Chargeman


Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience as Shift Supervisor / Senior Supervisor or at least 2 years’ experience in similar position of a luxury hotel
Candidates with experience in Le Meridien or Marriott International properties are preferred


Responsibilities

Job Summary: Duty Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily engineering operations to ensure all systems, particularly kitchen equipment, are functioning efficiently and safely. The role requires consistent delivery of high-quality technical support and professional, responsive service that aligns with the hotel's operational standards. The candidate must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and collaborate effectively with other departments, especially with the Director of Engineering, to maintain a safe and well-functioning environment that supports Le Méridien’s brand standards.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Make periodic rounds to all area to support equipment and maintains operating log of conditions observed.
Identify, locate and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for building.
Provide prompt, courteous and efficient engineering service.
Effectively handle guest concerns.
Take work orders promptly.
Monitor all equipment are in good running condition and report status if found defective and recommend necessary solution for the problem.
Test, troubleshoot and perform repair on all types of equipment.
To operate as an independent mechanic by analysing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
Conduct maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
Plans, recommends and carries out approved program on scheduled maintenance.
