Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, including income tax, indirect tax, and other local taxes.
Prepare and review tax computations and supporting documentation.
Review provisional tax computation prepared by finance staffs for revision of tax estimation purposes.
Manage the timely submission of instrument via e-Duti Setem and ensure full settlement of duties within the statutory period.
Ensuring on-time payment for all types of tax payments and ensure all the receipts are kept properly.
Keep abreast of changes in Malaysian tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Review and update the Transfer Pricing documents to ensure compliance.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
Advise on tax implications of business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
To perform analysis of effective tax rate for Group of Companies.
Audit and Dispute Management:
Manage tax audit and investigation by entertaining to inquiries from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) and Royal Malaysia Customs Department and other relevant authorities. All decisions are to be referred to Management.
Prepare responses to tax audit queries and disputes, and negotiate settlements where applicable.
Internal Coordination and Support:
Collaborate with various departments to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business processes.
Provide guidance and training to finance and accounting teams on tax-related matters.
Provide technical guidance to Finance and IT teams to ensure e-invoicing remains compliant with the latest IRB’s requirements.
External Relations:
Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal consultants as necessary.
Manage relationships with tax authorities and stay informed about relevant developments.
Others:
Carry out any other work as and when assigned by the Superior(s).
Assist in overseas tax matters.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting/Finance and/or Professional qualification from a recognized accounting body.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in managerial role in taxation related field.
Good knowledge and extensive practical experience in interpreting Malaysian tax legislation.
Proficient in Malaysian digital tax platforms including MyTax, MyInvois, e-Duti Setem, MySST, PINS and others.
Hands on experience in preparation and reviewing of tax computations
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Proficient in using MS Office.
