Key responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies and policies that support the company's business goals and ensure legal compliance
Oversee all aspects of employee recruitment, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing and selection processes
Manage employee onboarding, orientation programmes and training and development initiatives to support career growth and skill enhancement
Administer payroll, benefits, compensation and performance management systems to ensure accuracy and fairness
Handle employee relations matters including grievances, disputes, disciplinary actions and terminations in a professional and lawful manner
Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment laws, regulations and statutory requirements, including work permits and documentation
Lead workforce planning and organisational development efforts to support company growth and restructuring as needed
Maintain detailed HR records and prepare regular reports on HR metrics and analytics for senior management
Foster a positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives, recognition programmes and team-building activities
Serve as a strategic business partner to departmental managers on people-related matters and operational support
What we're looking for
A diploma or bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field
Minimum 5 years of professional HR experience, with at least 2-3 years in an HR management or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law, labour regulations and statutory requirements including the Employment Act 1955
Proven expertise in recruitment, talent management, employee relations and performance management
Experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and payroll management software
Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work independently as well as collaboratively
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to HR decision-making
Knowledge of occupational safety and health (OSH) regulations is advantageous
Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional language skills are a plus
