Key responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our Logistics & Services team in Malaysia. In this role, you will act as a trusted business partner—supporting, guiding, and mentoring HSE Business Partners and operational teams across our landside operations, including Transportation, Warehousing, Depot and related facilities.
You will drive safety excellence and support Maersk’s ESG and Integrator ambitions by ensuring sustainable, compliant, and proactive HSE practices across the cluster. This role includes people leadership and oversight of regulatory requirements across Malaysia South and Central regions.
You will:
Lead and develop a team of HSE Business Partners within the cluster.
Partner with country operations to ensure compliance with the Global HSSE Policy, HSSE Management Framework, and local regulations.
Promote a strong HSE culture across daily operations in transportation, warehousing, and depot environments.
Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to address compliance and capability gaps.
Provide timely technical advice on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and operational safety.
Conduct site risk assessments, audits, inspections, and visual management to identify improvement opportunities.
Manage and analyze HSE data to provide insights
Facilitate HSE committee meeting/ management reviews and communicate findings
Lead serious incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures.
Support Growth & Integration activities through HSE impact and risk assessments.
Stay updated on Malaysian HSE regulations and industry best practices to strengthen compliance.
Perform routine site visits across operational locations.
Ensuring SG&A spend is controlled and within allocated limits
Support selected transportation‑related projects (non‑SME scope).
We’re looking for
10+ years of HSE experience within Logistics, Transportation, Warehousing, or Depot operations.
Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH
Experience in leading direct and indirect teams
Strong understanding of Malaysian HSE regulatory requirements
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive cultural and behavioural change.
Collaborative working style and strong communication skills.
Analytical mindset, with ability to interpret incident trends and recommend prevention strategies.
