IOT SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain IoT applications and backend systems for connected devices.

Design and implement device communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, WebSocket, etc.).

Integrate IoT devices with cloud platforms, APIs, and databases.

Develop firmware or edge software for embedded systems when required.

Build dashboards or tools for device monitoring, data visualization, and diagnostics.

Optimize system performance, reliability, and data transmission efficiency.

Troubleshoot connectivity issues between devices, servers, and applications.

Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure smooth device-software integration.

Implement security best practices for IoT devices and data communication.

Document system architecture, APIs, and development processes.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

2–4 years experience in software development or IoT related projects.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, JavaScript, or Java.

Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP).

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).

Experience with REST APIs, databases, and microservices architecture.

Understanding of embedded systems and device communication is an advantage.

Familiarity with Linux environments and containerization (Docker) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice to Have
Experience with real-time data streaming.

Experience integrating IoT with mobile apps or dashboards.

Knowledge of OTA (Over-the-Air) device updates.

Experience working with edge computing systems.
