Regulatory Compliance Officer

Job Descriptions:

Regulatory Compliance
a. Ensure compliance with national and international food laws (e.g., FDA, USDA, EFSA, FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, Codex, etc.).
b. Monitor changes in legislation and update company policies and processes accordingly.
c. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory authorities.

Food Safety & Quality Assurance
a. Oversee implementation of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS).
b. Conduct internal audits to verify adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols.
c. Investigate food safety incidents and coordinate corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
d. Conduct Supplier Audit to verify adherence to regulatory.

Product Labelling & Claims
a. Review product labels to ensure compliance with local and export market requirements (e.g., ingredient listings, allergen declarations, nutritional facts, and health claims).
b. Liaise with R&D and marketing teams to verify the legality of product claims.

Training & Awareness
a. Develop and deliver training programs for staff on food safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
b. Promote a compliance-focused culture across departments.

Regulatory Liaison
a. Act as the company’s point of contact for regulatory bodies, inspectors, and certification agencies.
b. Manage inspections and audits from authorities or third parties.

Responsible for any other assignments which will be delegated to him/her from the superior(s) from time to time.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision and capable of handling multiple tasks effectively.

Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with HACCP, ISO 22000, PCQI, GMP, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, or other food safety regulations will be an added advantage.

Solid understanding of food regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.

Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail with strong risk assessment and decision-making abilities.

Effective team player with a proactive and responsible work attitude.
