Safety & Environmental Officer

The Incumbent is responsible for most or all of the following areas:

Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification – Identify workplace hazards and evaluate risks.

Safety Policy Implementation – Develop, enforce, and monitor safety procedures and standards.

Accident & Incident Investigation – Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.

Health Monitoring & Promotion – Ensure occupational health programs and safe working conditions.

Environmental Compliance – Ensure adherence to environmental laws and promote sustainable practices.

Training – Conduct safety, health, and environmental training for employees.

Audits & Inspections – Regularly inspect workplace conditions and perform safety/environmental audits.

Reporting & Documentation – Maintain records, prepare reports, and communicate SHE performance to management.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (with environmental specialization), or similar.

• Possess a Malaysia-registered Safety Officer (SHO) license.

• Familiar with construction safety regulations and standards, preferably with some good knowledge in environmental law and regulations.

• Project management experience is often helpful.

• Proficient in English and preferable Chinese as dealing with Chinese stakeholders.
