JOB DESCRIPTION-TEST / AGING / REPAIR TECHNICIAN
INDUSTRY : PERFORMANCE LIGHTING DESIGN & MANUFACTURING
LOCATION : LOT 2889, LEBUH KAMPUNG JAWA, FIZ PHASE 3, 11900 BAYAN LEPAS, PENANG MALAYSIA
EMPLOYMENT : PERMANENT POSITION
REPORT TO : PRODUCTION / ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR
SALARY : MYR 2,500 – 3,500 PER MONTH (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)
Working Hours : Shift-based (Regular hours will be 9am-6pm Monday to Friday, peak season shift as required)
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Test / Aging / Repair Technician is responsible for conducting product testing, aging processes, and repair activities to ensure all products meet defined quality and functional requirements. This role supports production and engineering teams by identifying failures, performing corrective actions, and ensuring stable production output in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform functional testing, aging, and reliability tests in accordance with test procedures and specifications.
· Diagnose electronic and mechanical failures and carry out repair and rework activities.
· Handle Mechanical Repair tasks, including structural adjustment, component replacement, and assembly correction.
· Operate and support SMT-related processes and downstream testing equipment.
· Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams on electronic and mechanical failure analysis and corrective actions.
· Accurately record and maintain test, aging, electronic repair, and mechanical repair reports.
· Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and FTZ manufacturing requirements.
· Support continuous improvement activities related to test yield and repair efficiency, including mechanical repair efficiency.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 3 years of experience in testing, aging, electronic repair, or mechanical repair within an electronics manufacturing environment.
· Familiar with SMT manufacturing processes and equipment.
· Hands-on experience with SMT machines (e.g., YAMAHA brand) is an advantage.
· Experience working with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems is preferred.
· Ability to read basic schematics, test procedures, and work instructions.
· Basic understanding of mechanical structures with the ability to handle product structure-related repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
· Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in electronics manufacturing.
· Experience working in FTZ or high-mix production environment is an advantage.
