Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for the overall management, coordination and execution of all construction activities on-site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The incumbent will act as the principal point of contact between the client, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution
Manage and oversee the day-to-day construction operations on-site.
Develop and implement detailed work schedules and project timelines.
Ensure compliance with construction drawings, specifications and design requirements.
Health & safety
Implement and enforce all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
Conduct regular safety briefings and toolbox talks.
Ensure all personnel comply with the site safety standards.
Team & Subcontractor Coordination
Select, appoint and coordinate subcontractors and site personnel.
Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve on-site issues as their arise.
Ensure all subcontracted work meets agreed standards and deadlines.
Quality assurance
Monitor quality of workmanship and materials throughout the construction process
Conduct inspections and test to ensure compliance with design and building regulations.
Budget & procurement
Manage project budget and control costs effectively.
Procure materials, plant, and equipment in line with project needs and timelines.
Liaise with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Reporting & Communication
Provide regular process reports to the client and stakeholders.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including logs, site diaries, permits, and approvals.
Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
· Proven experience as a main contractor or site/project manager in the construction industry.
· In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
· Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
· Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficiency with project management tools and construction software is an advantage.
· Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
· Valid professional licenses and certifications as required by local regulations.
