Job Description
Responsibilities
Project Leadership
Lead and manage automation projects to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.▪
Facilitate cross-functional project teams (automation, electrical, IT/OT, MES, commissioning, vendors).
Conduct requirement-gathering sessions and translate customer needs into clear functional specifications.
Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates.
Manage project risks, issues, scope changes, and progress reporting.
Technical Coordination
Coordinate engineering activities involving PLC programming, SCADA/HMI design, industrial networks, historians, and data integration.
Review control system architectures, panel designs, network designs, and functional design documents for accuracy and quality.
Support PLC/SCADA engineers by providing direction, clarifying requirements, and ensuring standardization across sites.
Plan and supervise FAT, SAT, commissioning, and go-live activities for automation systems.
Ensure documentation (FDS, SDS, drawings, test protocols, handover packages) meets project standards.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Drive clear communication between customers, project teams, and internal management.
Conduct progress meetings, prepare reports, and ensure transparency across all workstreams.
Build strong customer relationships by understanding business drivers and offering technical and operational insights.
Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, and third-party vendors as required.
Continuous Improvement
Ensure consistent application of engineering standards, best practices, and change control procedures.
Mentor junior engineers and support onboarding on Logical Systems’ methodologies and quality standards.
Identify process improvement opportunities in project workflows, commissioning practices, and documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical, or related field).
Minimum 5 years of experience in automation or industrial control systems, with at least 2 years in project leadership.
Strong technical foundation in one or more of the following:
Siemens S7 / TIA Portal
Rockwell/Allen-Bradley ControlLogix
Schneider Modicon
SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, WinCC, FTView, InTouch, iFIX, etc.)
Industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA)
SQL databases, historians, or OT/IT interfaces
Demonstrated ability to manage engineering deliverables across design, development, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
Ability to lead teams, manage conflicts, and make decisive project decisions.
Flexibility to support customers during off-hours and willingness to travel across the ASEAN region.
Preferred Skills
Experience in multi-site manufacturing projects.
Familiarity with digitalization/Industry 4.0 initiatives, IIoT platforms, or data acquisition systems.
Understanding of safety PLCs, process control, or batch control (S88).
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or modern project delivery methodologies.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, and instrumentation diagrams.
