Job Description
Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting and Reporting
Prepare interim and annual financial statements for the organisation(s) in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and other statutory requirements within the required deadlines.
Prepare periodic management reports by providing insightful analysis on the financial position and performance of the organisation(s) to support decision-making and information needs of the stakeholders.
Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions for the purpose of audit (internal & external).
Ensure compliance with statutory/regulatory requirements including financial reporting standards, audit, income tax, withholding tax and SST.
Monitor monthly bank reconciliation and ensure outstanding items are promptly investigated and resolved.
Manage the cash flow requirements in accordance with the respective funding and utilisation plans.
2. Budget Planning
Review and propose budgetary policies and procedures to achieve effective control and compliance in line with financial discipline and prudence.
Participate in annual budget planning and interim budget review with Management and business divisions.
Manage all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress and changes, and keep management abreast of the financial position and performance.
3. Cashflow Management & Investment
Forecast cash receipts and financial obligations to ensure positive cashflows which is imperative to maintaining sustainable operations.
Implement strategic investment of cash surplus to drive stronger interest income.
4. Tax Planning
Timely preparation and filing of corporate tax, including withholding tax or such other taxes which may be introduced by the Malaysian authorities in the future.
Implement tax planning to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation in the organisation tax procedures.
Manage and facilitate tax audit by preparing responses and creating schedules.
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law development, create strategies to capitalise on the changes and communicate the effects of these developments to Management and Finance team.
5. Financial Accounting System
Maintain financial accounting system and implement the necessary control to protect data integrity including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and capital expenditure.
6. Procurement & Tender management
Coordinate all administrative aspects of the tendering process and contract management including but not limited to arranging tender meeting and proper documentation of the proceedings.
Ensure efficient and compliant execution of tendering activities in compliance with internally established tender and procurement policy and procedures.
Assist in follow-up and tracking of tender status against the project timelines.
Review and update of tender and procurement policy and procedures.
Coordinate the annual assessment of service provider performance.
7. General
Provide advisory services to clients on finance-related matters to support the business needs of the organisation(s).
Review, improve and implement all necessary financial policies and procedure manuals.
Liaise with the IRD, Customs, internal & external auditors, and relevant committees of the Board/Council as appropriate.
Ensure effective communication and presentation of critical financial matters to HOF and Management.
Participate in procurement and tender evaluation process for IT and non-IT projects e.g., Group Integrated Digital Plan (GIDP) as well as Building Operations.
Provide support for any other ad-hoc duties such as OSHA programmes and training as well as matters related to accounting and financial management, as and when necessary.
Perform any additional tasks as and when the need arises.

Experiences
Prior experience in financial reporting & analysis, taxation, forecasting and budgeting would be an added advantage (>5 year).
Sound knowledge and understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and tax accounting and compliance.
Able to provide accurate analysis and highlight potential financial issue that might arise from the organisation’s or client’s daily business activities and operations.
Keeping abreast with the latest developments in accounting and financial reporting matters including requirements of financial reporting standards and guidelines to enable effective advisory.
Qualifications
A recognized degree in accounting with professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, MICPA, ICAEW).
A postgraduate degree would be an added advantage.
