Job Description – Buyer

Location : Lot 2889, Lebuh Kampung Jawa, FIZ Phase 3,11900 Bayan Lepas, Penang Malaysia
Employment : Permanent Position
Reporting to : Procurement Manager / CAO

Salary : MYR 4,000 – 6,000 per month (depending on experience)

Working Hours : 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday




Position Overview
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services required to support production and engineering activities. This role ensures timely procurement, cost competitiveness, supplier reliability, and compliance with FTZ operational and company procurement requirements.

Key Responsibilities
· Source and procure materials, components, and services according to production and project requirements.

· Issue purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery in line with production schedules.

· Negotiate pricing, lead time, and commercial terms with suppliers.

· Manage and evaluate supplier performance including quality, delivery, and cost.

· Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams to support operational needs.

· Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing data, and supplier documentation.

· Ensure procurement activities comply with FTZ regulations and internal control procedures.

Procurement & Supply Chain Knowledge
· Familiar with procurement processes and purchasing best practices.

· Experience sourcing mechanical, electronic, or manufacturing-related materials is an advantage.

· Basic understanding of inventory control and material planning.

· Experience working with ERP or purchasing systems is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience
· Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related discipline.

· Relevant working experience in procurement or purchasing role is preferred.

· Experience in manufacturing or FTZ environment is an added advantage.

Language Requirement
Preferred candidates should be able to communicate effectively in the following languages:

· Chinese (Optional)

· English

· Bahasa Malaysia

Additional Requirements
· Good negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.

· Detail-oriented with strong follow-up capability.

· Able to work independently and manage multiple suppliers and priorities.
