We are assisting our client in hiring:
The Chargeman A4 is responsible for operating, maintaining, and ensuring the safety of high-voltage electrical installations (up to 11kV or above) in compliance with the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) regulations.
This role requires holding a valid Chargeman A4 certificate issued by the Energy Commission of Malaysia.
Location: Johor Bahru - GSX Skudai / SMX Kempas
Key Responsibilities
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-voltage electrical systems and equipment (up to and above 11 kV).
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations, including switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
• Ensure all work is performed in complance with Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Energy Commission guidelines.
• Respond to electrical faults, carry out fault diagnosis, and restore power with minimal downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and operational activities.
• Liaise with utility providers (e.g., TNB) for shutdowns, maintenance, or upgrades.
• Ensure safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices are strictly followed.
• Supervise and train technicians or assistants under your care.
• Participate in periodic energy audits and safety inspections.
Requirements
• Certification: Valid Chargeman A4 Certificate from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years working with high-voltage equipment (preferably in industrial or commercial facilities).
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and electrical safety procedures.
• Physical Fitness: Able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and during extended hours if required.
• Soft Skills: Good communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience in manufacturing plants, data centers, or large commercial complexes.
• Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, 150 50001).
• Ability to lead emergency response during electrical incidents.
