Job Responsibility
• Responsible to generate detailed and accurate costing sheets for new RFQs, including materials, labour, test, SG&A, equipment, NRE and overhead costs, incorporating pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure costing sheets reflect realistic and competitive pricing.
• Review and analyze new RFQs to assess technical requirements, scope and specifications to evaluate the feasibility of executing the project based on the company’s capabilities, resources and capacity.
• Collaborate with sourcing, production, engineering and sales teams to determine whether the company can meet the technical, timeline and pricing requirements.
• Interpret and analyze Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering drawings and technical specifications to understand project requirements.
• Communicate with customers to address any discrepancies or technical issues related to drawings, specifications and build requirements promptly.
• Provide proposals, clearly define and describe deviation from customer request in the costing sheet. Document and track resolutions of technical issues, ensuring all changes are reflected in costing.
• Collaborate with internal teams in cost-down initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or performance.
• Liaise with sourcing department to discuss with suppliers on technical related matters during costing preparation.
• Calculate and follow-up on cycle time, strategies and methods used to produce parts when the results are not achieved and implement corrective action.
• Review and evaluate customer feedback on submitted quotations and identify requested changes and adjustments.
• Cooperate with KMWE Netherlands for potential module transfer cost.
• Assist the cost engineering manager for costing related activities.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Manufacturing Engineering; or 2 years or more of related experience and training in cost engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)) to accurately interpret technical drawings, assess cost implications and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret work orders, blueprints or technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Independent and able to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
