Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Interpret and work from single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, cable schedules, and equipment data sheets for each MDC build.
• Terminate, label, and test low-voltage (LV) and extra-low voltage (ELV) cabling including power, control, data, earthing, and bonding conductors throughout the module shell.
• Install, wire, and test power distribution units (PDUs), busbar trunking systems, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
• Mount and connect switchgear, MCCBs, MCBs, RCDs, surge protection devices (SPDs), and associated control components in distribution boards and remote power panels (RPPs).
• Install and terminate instrumentation loops including temperature sensors, humidity transmitters, water leak detection cables, smoke detectors, and access control wiring as per BMS / DCIM integration requirements.
• Perform insulation resistance (IR) testing, polarity checks, earth continuity testing, and loop impedance measurements; document results in test packs and FAT checklists.
• Support the commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) process, including power-on sequencing, load bank testing, and defect rectification.
• Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOM) to confirm correct equipment quantities and verify material receipt prior to installation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workstation; observe lock-out / tag-out (LOTO) procedures at all times.
• Complete daily works records, material usage logs, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) as required.
• Collaborate with mechanical and cooling technicians on interface coordination to avoid rework and maintain build schedule.
• Support integration of monitoring cables and sensor wiring for liquid cooling systems (CDUs, RDHx) where fitted — training provided.
Qualifications & Education
• Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 or Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Technology, or equivalent trade qualification — mandatory.
• Certificate / Diploma in Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics — advantageous.

Wireman (W1 / W2) or Chargeman (A0 / A1) — Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission)
CIDB Green Card (Kad Pekerja Binaan)
Permit to Attend Electrical Works (PAL)
Working at Heigh certification
First Aid (St John Ambulance or Red Crescent Malaysia) - Advantageous
Certificate in Instrumentation / HART Communicator - Advantageous
Technical Skills
• Proficient in LV panel wiring, cable termination (mechanical lug and crimped ferrule), and labelling to IEC 60445 / BS 5308 conventions.
• Competent in use of digital multimeters, insulation testers (Megger), clamp meters, earth resistance testers, and loop impedance testers.
• Familiarity with DCIM / BMS sensor types and their installation requirements.
• Ability to read and mark up AutoCAD or PDF electrical drawings.
• Working knowledge of IEC 60364 and IEC 62040 (UPS systems).
• Basic IT / networking awareness useful for structured cabling and patch panel termination tasks.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on electrical installation and commissioning experience in industrial, data centre, telecommunications, or modular construction environments. Experience on MDC or packaged plant fitout is highly regarded.
Language & Other Requirements
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia for technical documentation and safety communications.
• Basic working knowledge of Mandarin advantageous given the multilingual nature of the Johor data centre manufacturing environment.
• Flexibility to support overtime and shift commissioning windows as required.
